INTERESTING FACTS
Wheeler is our oldest vineyard and home to the Siletto Family Vineyards office and Customer guest house. The ranch produces spectacular fruit from old vines. It borders Tres Pinos Creek to the North and it is a short walk into the quaint town of Tres Pinos and the famous 19th Hole Saloon and Tres Pinos Inn. The elevated gravelly alluvial terrace on the south side was planted by Bob Wheeler in 1974 to Cabernet Sauvignon-Inglenook clone, on AXR1 rootstock. The well drained alluvial fan to the north and below was planted in 1977 to plantings of Wente clone Chardonnay on AXR1 rootstock. 1.5 acres of Sangiovese was added to the terrace in 2007. Bob Wheeler used to produce grapes for Almaden. John Siletto used to do sugar samples for Mr. Wheeler in the 80s. We purchased this ranch in 1995.
